Weekly Audio: “The Promotion”
April 10th, 2009 by adminCLICK HERE to listen. Eight minutes long, and worth every second.
Josh gets promoted to assistant manager at the gym. “Dreams really do come true!”
Yes, they do, even through sarcasm.
How do you want to see YOUR circumstances? Failure, disappointment and bitterness?
Or gratitude, opportunity and appreciation?
I know where I’d line up. I know where I DID line up, and I’m happy I did!
Happy Good Friday,
Larry

Great audio, Larry. It’s true that we don’t always end up exactly where we thought we would, but what we find out along the way is that each experience adds to who we are and helps us to grow in ways we never imagined.
Kudos to the new Assistant Manager who was recognized for his talents and moved one more step up the ladder!! Unemployment is at a 25 year high and just having a job is quite an accomplishment.
Paying off debt is great advice as well. Don’t let the talking heads in Washington cloud the truth- they will say that stimulating the economy with tax cuts will only lead to individuals paying down old debt and not pump money back into the economy. Nonsense! Paying off debt will return borrowed money to the failing banks, which is how the system is supposed to work, and ultimately strengthen the economy.
Plus, as you regain control of your finances and learn new ways to spend your hard-earned money, your credit rating will improve and you will be empowered to make larger purchases. It’s all good - it just takes some planning. I recommend that anyone interested in getting control of their finances and learning to actually thrive in these difficult times check out a book by Dave Ramsey called “The Total Money Makeover”. Read about my personal experiences with his advice at my blog:
